Christina Springman’s weekend is a festive local adventure, fully embracing the spirit of the holidays. On Friday, she kicks off the festivities by picking up custom holiday greeting cards and securing tickets for a unique Christmas gift at the theater. The evening continues with a magical visit to a holiday light show and a cozy pizza dinner. Saturday unfolds with a family trip to the library, exploring downtown art, and holiday shopping with a screening of Elf. A quick stop for comfy sneakers precedes a delicious supper. Sunday brings energetic fun in the morning, followed by a staff party at the theater, featuring a musical. The day concludes with post-show festivities. It’s a weekend filled with local delights, supporting businesses and enjoying holiday magic.  

Friday

3:00 p.m.	Pick up holiday greeting cards that I had printed at Adcraft
4:00 p.m.	Buy tickets to “Die Hard is a Christmas Movie- A Parody Musical” at Mirrorbox Theatre for a Christmas gift for my husband.
4:30 p.m.	Pick the kids up from school and daycare and head over to McGrath Ampitheatre’s Holiday Light show.
6:30 p.m.	Then we’ll order pizza from Tomaso’s or Need… depending on the style we’re looking for that day.

Saturday

10:00 a.m.	We love taking the kids to the Cedar Rapids Public Library on Saturdays. They often have a fun event going on and we love coffee and cookies from Roasters. This weekend we’ll see Merry Tuba Christmas at the Downtown Library
12:00 p.m.	We like to take walks downtown and check out all the awesome art using the Murals and More self-guided art tour.
3:00 p.m.	After nap time we’ll head to NewBo City Market to do some Holiday shopping and watch Elf
5:30 p.m.	I’d love to run over to Iowa Running Company for some new sneakers. I’m no runner but they have my favorite everyday sneakers there.
6:30 p.m.	Finally, we’ll likely head to New Pioneer Food Co-Op for some yummy bread, soup & cheese for supper

Sunday

10:30 a.m.	We’ll start the morning at The Shell or AirFX to get some energy out!
1:00 p.m.	Then we’re off to The Map Room staff party at Theatre Cedar Rapids! We’ll have a gathering with snack and drinks in their lounge and then we all get to go to the “Wizard of Oz Musical”
4:30 p.m.	After the show, we’ll all head to Quarter Barrel Arcade & Brewery for games and beers!
