A weekend with family in town means recreation, exploring shops, discovering history, and enjoying delicious restaurants with friends and family around Cedar Rapids!

Friday

10:30 a.m.	With family in town, we take the little ones to The Shell-Little Sports Torts Indoor Play Space to run around for a while. We catch up while they burn off pent up energy from the car ride!
6:00 p.m.	Meet up with friends and colleagues at Chophouse Downtown to celebrate the holiday season. With so many beers on tap and a great selection on the menu, there’s something to satisfy every palate!

Saturday

9:00 a.m.	Arrive in Czech Village for a day of exploring and shopping. We start off with a stroll around the shops with coffee and make inspired holiday gift purchases at Czech Cottage. Then, we “Czech” out the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library, marveling at the intricately-patterned textiles on display and taking in the history of some of the first immigrants to Cedar Rapids.
1:00p.m.	Feeling peckish, we stop quickly at local eatery, Lucky’s on 16th, for a bite to eat. You can’t beat breakfast served all day!
2:00 p.m.	In a historic mood, we venture over to Hall Bicycle Company, a staple in Downtown since 1898, and founded by a local Cedar Rapidian, Mr. Edward Hall.
4:00 p.m.	Round out the day with an early dinner before the crowds at The Map Room to enjoy the most delicious veggie burger in the city, and also sampling more from their adventurous, worldly menu! (The place is tiny and cute—a crowd here is 10 people!)

Sunday

11:00 a.m.

Inspired by yesterday’s Hall Bicycle stop and museum tour, we bid our guests goodbye over a delicious brunch at Pedaler’s Fork. There are menu offerings for everyone, and we adults enjoy the mimosas!
