Across the Cedar Rapids Metro, two organizations work hand in hand to ensure that the dreams of entrepreneurs flourish. The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, a hub of support for local businesses, and SCORE, the Service Corps of Retired Executives, share the aim of creating a thriving and successful business environment.
SCORE, a subsidiary of the Small Business Association, is a nationwide network dedicated to mentoring and advising small business owners. With chapters spread across the country, each supporting its own geographic area, SCORE has become a trusted resource for those navigating the complex world of entrepreneurship. Nationally, SCORE was instrumental in creating 122 new businesses and 623 jobs in 2023. These mentors, many of whom are retired executives with decades of experience, volunteer their time to guide the next generation of business owners.
